Second 'Statistical Data Science' workshop in Cartagena

Last week (30 – 31 May) 15 EUT+ data scientists from Spain, Ireland, Italy and Germany met at the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena for the second 'Statistical Data Science' workshop.

The two-day meeting, organized by Alberto Gila and Marcos Egea Gutierrez-Cortines (both UPCT), focused on topics related to data science and society, statistics, bioinformatics and machine learning. The workshop offered doctoral students in particular the opportunity to present their research as a 'work in progress'. The participants also discussed various networking opportunities in research and teaching in order to intensify cooperation within the framework of EUT+.

The scientists came from the EUT+ partner universities in Cartagena, Darmstadt, Dublin and Cassino. The group's kick-off meeting took place a year ago at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (h_da). The next meeting is planned at TU Dublin.
