Student advisory service

Our services are free-of-charge, confidential and result-oriented. We only provide support on personal and individual case-related terms – readily as pre-arranged appointments, as opposed to our normal consulting hours.

We provide information on study contents, requirements and the application procedure. We help you sort through the information and come to a good decision. You can get an insight into our work at (German).

We advise on the following topics at all stages of study:

  •  Study goal(s) and strategies for success
  • Resources
  • Obstacles and ways of coping
  • Exam organisation: workload per semester, learning strategies and technique(s), time management, motivation and concentration
  • Doubts
  • Interruption of studies
  • Excessive demands and exhaustion
  • Exam nerves
  • Problems with lecturers
  • private emergencies

We offer:

  • Exam and learning coaching
  • Study progress monitoring: After you have given your Einverständniserklärung (declaration of consent), we are given access to your exam results and invite you to a counselling interview if you have any problems. Further information on the programme can be found in issue 20 (German) of the University’s in-house newsletter, and on Youtube.

Advice from students & lecturers

Experts for individual study programmes also help with study orientation and provide support during studies. In addition, they are the first point of contact when it comes to planning your studies.
