Doctoral centers at h_da
The Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences has its independent doctoral awarding rights in the research-strong fields of sustainability sciences as well as applied computer science and social work. The right to award doctorates is exercised in the doctoral centers established specifically for this purpose, which serve as a platform for the bundling of research strengths. The networking on the platforms enables inter- and transdisciplinary cooperation, so that doctoral students are offered a suitable scientific environment.
The Doctoral Center of Applied Computer Science is a joint scientific institution of the four Hessian Universities of Applied Sciences (HAW) Hochschule Darmstadt, Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, Hochschule Fulda and Hochschule RheinMain. The seat of the doctoral center is located at the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt, the office is located at the Graduate School of the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt.
The Doctoral Center Sustainability Studies is the university's the first independent doctoral center. Sustainability sciences integrate different branches of science and research in order to gain insights for social, socio-economic, engineering (respectively technical) and natural science challenges.
The Doctoral Center Social Work is a joint scientific institution of the four Hessian Universities of Applied Sciences (HAW) Hochschule Darmstadt, Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, Hochschule Fulda and Hochschule RheinMain. The seat of the center is at the Rhine-Main University of Applied Sciences, where also the administrative office is located.
