Check-lists

Please only submit documents that are required for the application and note the Info country by country for additional documents.

 

You need these documents:

  • Your passport
  • School-leaving certificate, including all pages containing text, as well as all subjects taken and grades achieved.
  • sworn translation* into German or English (if your certificate has not already been issued in one of these languages)
  • Any higher education entrance examinations in your home country (if applicable).
  • Certification of study, including an overview of subjects studied and grades achieved, in your home country (if applicable).
  • Proof of sufficient proficiency in the German language
  • Proof of sufficient proficiency in the English language (this only applies to degree courses requiring proof of English language proficiency).
  • preparatory exam (should you have attended just such a college) or proof that you are currently attending the preparatory college (Studienkolleg)
  • Information on the APS certificate can be found at the Akademische Prüfstelle (APS)
  • Master applicants: Your university degree (Bachelor or Diploma) including certificates of achievement (subjects taken and grades achieved, Credit or ECTS points).
  • higher semester: current certificate of achievement 

Any official certifications and certified translations (into German or English). However, should your certificates and references already have been (also) issued officially in German or English language forms in your country of origin, we do not require additional translations. Certificates and references issued in French must be officially translated into either German or English. As a member university of uni-assist, have adopted their common standards for official certifications and certified translations. Click on Certifications and translations to find out what must be heeded in this regard.

You will also need to submit the following documents if you studied, or are still studying, in Germany:

  • Current certificate of study or disenrollment certificate
  • current certificate of eligibility for examination if you were already enrolled in the same degree program
