Your orientation semester for science and technology!
Have you completed your A-levels but are still unsure what to do next?
Are you interested in science and technology?
Do you want to try out the different subject areas before you decide?
Then the hejmint orientation semester is just right for you! At hejmint, you can get a taste of various STEM degree programmes and STEM apprenticeships, take part in exciting projects and find out what suits you best.
How hejmint works
hejmint always starts in March and September and lasts a total of 7 months, including the industrial internship.
You study STEM degree programmes of your choice on a trial basis for one semester and get a taste of companies and STEM apprenticeships in the Darmstadt region. In our coaching sessions, you will get to know your own strengths, interests and wishes. Finally, you will complete an industrial internship in a company of your choice.
During your taster programme, you will be enrolled at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and get to know everyday student life. Like regular students, you will receive a campuscard. This gives you access to discounted meals in the canteen, a semester ticket, university sports and free admission to Darmstadt's theatre and the state museum (culture ticket).
