Workshop: “Doubts about your studies? Finding your first steps out of the fog!”

Doubts about your studies? We’re here for you!

  • Reflecting on your current situation: Where do I stand in my studies?
  • Identifying and understanding the causes of study-related doubts

  • Those considering switching, pausing, or leaving their program
  • Anyone seeking orientation and impulses to better understand their current situation

Practical Notes

  • The workshop thrives on interaction – openness and mutual respect are essential.
  • All conversations take place in a confidential and safe space.
  • The workshop will be held in German. Contributions in English are always welcome. Key content and terms can be translated if needed. The goal is to create an open and inclusive environment where everyone can understand and feel comfortable.

Workshop Facilitator

  • The workshop is led by Jan Grun, an educational advisor with many years of experience supporting students through learning and decision-making processes. His work focuses on sustainable learning strategies, navigating doubts about studying, and developing individual action plans. He works at universities and educational institutions, combining theoretical insight with practical methods – always centered around the real-life situations of the participants.
  • The workshop is part of the Central Student Advisory Service at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, and can be ideally complemented with other counseling formats – such as clarifying goals, making decisions, or strengthening personal learning strategies. Participants will also receive, if needed, concrete suggestions for local resources that can support them in planning their next steps or exploring alternatives.
