Attend courses

For most degree programmes, courses such as lectures, labs and tutorials are organised and planned via the university portal my.h-da. There is also a quick link to the course catalogue. Some courses can simply be attended, for others you have to register. Registration for courses requiring registration takes place during the registration phase of the respective degree programme.

Book courses - create your own timetable

You can create your own personal timetable using the "Bookmark" function. Courses for which you have already been admitted or registered will automatically appear in your own timetable. Courses can also be pre-booked by marking them with a tick and then adding them to the timetable via "Pre-book marked dates".

Courses that must be booked

If a course is subject to compulsory enrolment, the enrolment phase is displayed. In the course catalogue or in a hit list, the note "enrol/cancel" is displayed if the date is within the enrolment phase, or "Currently no enrolment possible" if the date is outside the enrolment phase.

If places are available and the requirements are met, in particular with regard to the chosen degree programme and semester, admission is granted directly and the place is secured. Remaining places are allocated after the enrolment phase by means of an automatic procedure. In the case of enrolment with group priorities, the priority must be assigned to the desired groups.

Enrolment status

The status of enrolment can be checked on my.h-da under the quick link 'My courses'. The following status messages are possible:

  • Registered: Processing has not yet taken place and admission is pending.
  • Admitted: Registration has taken place and a place has been allocated.
  • Waiting list: The course is fully booked. If a place becomes available, registrations will move up.
  • Rejected: The application was rejected because the lot was not drawn in favour of this person. No place could be allocated in a parallel group either.
  • Note: Currently no booking possible! Only intended for non-binding planning of your own timetable.

Exam registration

Registration for the examinations takes place in addition to registration for the courses. Students will be informed of the examination registration period for their specific degree programme. Exam registration is usually also carried out via my.h-da under the quick link "Exam registration".
