Content

The IBA business studies programme imparts fundamental knowledge in all operational functional areas and focuses on intercultural aspects as well as the teaching of methodological and social competences (soft skills). With its international orientation, the degree programme takes into account the advancing globalisation and prepares students for positions in internationally operating companies. You can find more detailed information about the study programme on the website of the Darmstadt Business School.

Perspective

Graduates of IBA acquire the academic degree "Bachelor of Science", a university degree that qualifies them for a profession and is recognised internationally and in the business world. It prepares students for a diverse field of practice and entitles them to take up an advanced Master's programme.

Building on the Bachelor's degree, the following Master's programmes are possible:

International Business Administration - dual (Master of Science)
International Business Administration, part-time (Master of Science)
Business Administration (Master of Science)
Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Structure

The IBA bachelor's programme is characterised by a strong link between theory and business practice, individual supervision and work in small groups. You learn in well-equipped rooms and benefit from the services of a large state university. A variety of e-services, e.g. electronic library access, learning platforms and use of the internet-based university information system, enable flexible organisation of your studies. You will find a detailed description of the course contents in the module manual (German).

The temporal structure of the degree programme enables students to efficiently combine full-time professional work and studies. The lectures take place outside of regular working hours. Lecture times are Wednesdays and Fridays from 5.45 pm to 9 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 4.15 pm. In order to ensure that the foreign languages and elective modules do not overlap, individual courses may also be offered on other days of the week. 12 weeks a year are free of lectures. This ensures that the degree programme fully meets the requirements of a scientific university degree programme and at the same time a high-quality job can be done in the company.
