Fancy some fresh knowledge? Would you like to continue your education without starting a degree programme or simply get a taste of university life? You can attend selected courses as a guest student - even without a university entrance qualification, e.g. A-levels - and thus have the opportunity to get to know the university and the degree programme.
Which courses can I attend?
As a guest student, you can attend regular courses at h_da for up to 12 semester hours per week. The prerequisite is the approval of the respective lecturer for each individual course. The course catalogue provides an overview of the courses offered at h_da. You can also apply to attend several lectures.
When and how can I apply?
You can submit the application for guest auditor status directly via our university portal my.h-da by the beginning of a semester (summer semester 01.03. - 31.03. and winter semester 01.09. - 30.09.). You will find the individual courses in our course catalogue, always from the beginning of March or the beginning of September for the coming semester. The department responsible will check whether there are still places available for guest students in the desired course. You will receive feedback on whether the department can approve your application no later than 4 weeks after the start of lectures.
Am I enrolled as a guest student at h_da?
As a guest student, you are not enrolled as a student at h_da, which means that you cannot complete any coursework. In addition, guest students are not entitled to any student benefits such as the semester ticket or library card. This also means that they cannot take advantage of the discounted offers in the canteens.
How long is guest auditor status valid for?
Guest auditor status is valid for the duration of one semester.
What does guest lectureship cost?
The fee for a guest lectureship is currently 100 euros (amount determined in accordance with the Hessian administrative cost regulations). You will receive a request for payment with our confirmation.
Are there any special admission requirements?
No A-levels or other university entrance qualification is required for participation.
There are therefore no formal admission requirements.
